Rockin the Cruise

I took my first cruise this summer. IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME. Some friends of mine were going, and the price was right so i decided to try it. Not that i didn't want to go, its just that i had this whole idea of old people playing shuffle board, and dancing 50's style on the deck. right?
Well it wasn't anything like that, (except for some shuffle board, we couldn't help ourselves that game is fun, i recommend trying it! for real) The cabins were pretty sweet, and every single person i met was friendly and excited to meet someone new. Either we were excited or drunk...ah.
One whole night we spent at a few of the bars they had on the boat, each with it's own atmosphere, met a pretty cool cowboy named... you ready for this, "cowboy." He kept buying me drinks, i tried to make him stop without being rude, because we got all ours for free! (My buddy's dad is a referring travel agent, so we got some pretty sweet perks)
Another night my girlfriend and i had a really nice dinner (didn't taste like it was made on a boat y'all!) it was my first time eating lobster, i was surprised, considering it looked like a giant roach, that it was so good.
I'm gonna cut this short, but i'll be back with some more.

Top Ten

I thought this was fun, have a gander.

The Top 10 Reasons you might want NO Seating (on a Cruise)

  1. On a diet (i.e., you wanted to be the 1st person to lose weight on a cruise).
  2. Prefer having all of your food via room service (honeymooners?).
  3. Ice cream bar is open through early seating, making you too full for dinner.
  4. The bar is open, why do I need food? Besides the bar has munchies.
  5. You brought C-rations or like eating in port.
  6. You are a stow-away and afraid you'll be noticed sneaking a dining room seat.
  7. You came with a group whom you'd rather not associate with (e.g., a gift from and with the in-laws; (been there, done that).
  8. You forgot your false teeth.
  9. You are planning on falling overboard while urinating and don't want to eat within a half hour of swimming to shore (see Celebration story).
  10. You want to stay in your cabin and make sure your clothes don't end up being twisted into cute animal shapes.

links

I've included a few links to get cheaper travel rates. Being a college student makes it hard to come up with extra cash for some "fun in the sun." But everyone should be able to enjoy getting out of their home town for a few days... or a week... or more... ha ha. (AM I RIGHT PEOPLE!?)

Go to "book travel" and then look at "member trips" to see the deals offered as an RTA.

This guy tells you how to get cheaper air fare, which is really great considering that gas is almost as expensive as plane tickets anyway.
